We affectionately called her "Chelsea, the ferocious dog" because she had a very strong personality, although she was a small thing at 12 pounds. She went ballistic whenever she saw other dogs or wildlife like a deer who sometimes came up to our fence in the backyard.
When she was younger, and long after she was no longer a puppy, she ran so fast her belly would touch the ground. We could never catch her.
Her bark was recognizable like a human voice. We knew what she was expressing, hunger, thirst, excitement, happiness, boredom, the door to go outside.
She loved playing in the snow and eating it.
Our house feels a bit empty and we miss you.
